Tomorrow is the big 23 for Lillian Darnell!!! Damn! It just hit me typing that. I’ll post more tomorrow. This has been a plot twist kind of day. 😱 Currently sitting in the dark with Lillian. Finally got my Daisy out of the garage. She was trapped with having no electricity. We need that girl ready in case we decide to leave. 👀👣👀

Lillian and I stayed home. Power came back on around 1:30 this morning. Evacuation area hasn’t changed since yesterday afternoon. It would have been a nightmare trying to leave as our main road was/is closed (Mt Rose Hwy). Some neighbors who left can’t get back now. Still no word on containment this morning. Thank you to those who reached out to check on us. ❤️❤️❤️

Current photos. Taken about 1:15 pm PST. And current evacuation area. Still stops at the edge of our complex. NV Energy may have to shut off power again. Lillian and I are fine. Although she may need another anxiety med. 😱

It has been months since a Basil appreciation post. It’s absolutely ridiculous how much I miss my grandkitty. 💖💖💖 He’s the best!! I got to see Basil and Thomas yesterday. I have one class on Friday so stopped by to see them afterwards. 🖤🖤🖤

Have I Lost My Mind – Shock to the System

As Billy Idol sang, “Shock to the, shock to the, Shock to the system” 💥💥💥

I’ve either lost my mind, or found a long lost section of it. 😱😱😱 Last Monday I began at UNR alongside my wonderful 18-year-old, Thomas.

All week I’ve gone back and forth between, “What the hell have I done?” And “Hell yes! I’m doing it!”

I already have a 2 year degree, an AAS, specified as a Paralegal. My major and Thomas’s minor are the same so we’ll see if we eventually end up in a class together. Not likely, though. Thomas is ahead of me due to the specific classes they took at TMCC. We did meet up last week in between classes. So cool!

I may be absent from here at times as my brain tries to remember how to take notes while reading text books, retaining information, and studying. In addition to continuing my part-time work at NCED as a Family Navigator.

I’m getting a BA in English, with a Writing Specialization. I’m still deciding on my minor, or minors. It’s currently set as Social Justice.

I am Woman. I understand the assignment. I’m not going back. 🔥🖤🖤🖤🔥

I had coffee with my millennial friend, Dani, the other day. We were chatting about dating and dating apps. I was telling Dani how I didn’t understand what the deal was with the 20 and 30 something year olds coming at me. Like where are my Gen X peeps?

Dani told me I’m a MILF, and I’m all what the hell is that? 🤭😱 🤭

Now that I know, I like this interpretation of it much better. By the way, dating apps suck. I’ve tried them twice now. No more. 😂 Just gonna live my life, do the Camilla thang, and have fun! 💋💃💋

Comics n Coffee – Fun INOVA event

I love where I live! Thank you @inovaapts!!! We’ve had an amazing afternoon of tacos and margaritas!! Comics and Coffee makes a delicious spicy margarita. I know. I’ve had 3 of them. The tacos were amazing!!! The wonderful aspect of this is that I don’t have to drive home. Just walk across the parking lot! 🤣💋💋💋🤣

Main character shit is going down.

The next chapter begins on Monday, August 26, 2024. I’ve pressed the reset button of my life. I’m doing the things, taking the steps, moving forward, and I’m not going back. I feel like a teen again. Well, except for my body. Ha! I’ve got to let it show, I want the world to know. I’m living my life with arms and eyes wide open.

I am empowered by all the bullshit I’ve been through, and for all that I have conquered and accomplished. I wish for everyone to reach the point where they are moved to take the steps, do the damn shit. Not letting one’s age be a barrier but a springboard of the knowledge and experiences that you didn’t have when younger. Having this as a solid foundation for the tenacity to live your life as you wish, to write your own story. I’m going to the wheels fall off y’all!

Thank you again to the beautiful family and friends, near and far, who have supported and cheered for me and Team TLC for the past 18 years. There is no way I could ever express how much it meant to me.

This short teaser shall be a cliffhanger. I’m keeping it close with the few folks I’ve shared it with. Stay tuned … The next chapter is unwritten.
