Showing Up Can Change Your Life

Awesome Reno eWomenNetwork Members Who Showed Up!!

It’s changing mine! I attended the 10th Anniversary eWomenNetwork International conference July 15th – 18th in Dallas and now I’m taking my life, my passion and my heart to the next level.  And, I have accountability partners and mentors to keep me on track and give me a hand if I stumble.  This was the 3rd year I have attended the eWomenNetwork conference and the speakers and break out sessions just keep getting better and better.  Zig Ziglar and Lisa Nichols all at one conference!! Amazing!

I don’t believe there are any words I could use or any way I could describe the eWomenNetwork conferences.  The positive energy and good vibes that fill the air and permeate every little nook and cranny is exhilarating!  I believe there were about 30 of us that attended from the Reno eWomenNetwork chapter.  We met for a pre conference mastermind lunch to discuss and set forth each of our intentions for attending the conference.  This was an amazing experience; reinforced at the conference as many of our intentions were realized.  We’re talking goose bumpy stuff here y’all!

2010 eWomenNetwork Lifetime Achievement Award ~ Zig Ziglar

The thing is, how on earth do you expect to take yourself and your business to the next level if you don’t show up? How do you expect to build your business, increase your sales, grow your brand and establish yourself as an expert if you don’t show up? How do you expect for the right people to know you if you don’t show up? How do you expect to build relationships, engage with others, collaborate with others and connect with others if you don’t show up? That’s what this is all about! The way in which we communicate and conduct business has fundamentally changed forever.  We must show up on a consistent basis at events, meet people face to face, engage and build trust.  We then take that relationship into the online world and continue to nurture and grow it.  Then, you flip that upside down.  Show up online and meet people, engage and build trust.  Then, when and, if, you ever meet in person the relationship is taken to another level.  This is the core of Social Networking sites and using Social Media Marketing.  We’re not talking fake relationships here.  Those of you out there that are just connecting with people so you can increase the number of eyes to which you can broadcast your wares.  You know who you are ~ we can spot ya!

So what goose bumpy life changing moments happened for me? My intention was to make connections that will further the mission and goal of my 501(c)3, Turning Views Foundation. This actually began before even getting to the eWomenNetwork conference.  I attended The Chromosome 18 Registry and Research Society Conference in Tulsa the beginning of that same week.  I wrote about what happened here.

On Saturday, we took a minute to share our dream with someone at our table.  The lady in front of me turned around and we decided I’d go first.  I began talking of my dreams for Turning Views Foundation and her eyes were absolutely lighting up.  She had something exciting to tell me!  When it was her turn, she said, “I said a quick prayer before beginning this exercise and asked to be paired with the right person.”  She then went on to tell me about her business, Dawn’s Angel Wish Network, and the database she is building of 501(c)3 orginazations so that they can be paired with corporations who are seeking nonprofits to support.  This was her first time attending an eWomenNetwork conference and she was touched by this experience as well as many others she had been experiencing!

Julie Norman Ziglar, DeDe Galindo and Zig Ziglar

On Sunday, we were blessed with a presentation by Zig Ziglar and his daughter, Julie Norman Ziglar.  Their presentation is a blog post in and of itself.  It was beyond extremely moving.  When they were done, the Ziglar family stayed for a while to chat and take pictures.  I had the most unbelievably touching conversation with Zig Ziglar’s granddaughter, DeDe Galindo, (Julie Norman’s daughter).  As a result of our conversation I set a deadline for making the transition to the Turning Views Foundation.  Stay tuned for a post announcing and unveiling what it’s all about!  I think y’all will absolutely love it!

I know several of my fellow Reno eWomenNetwork members had similar experiences.  Any eWomenNetwork members or conference attendees want to share your experience?  We would love to hear your experience!!

Show up y’all on a consistent basis and it CAN change your life!

  1. Well for starters, Camilla was a great roomie for the conference.
This was my 5th eWomenNetwork conference, and although I wasn’t sure a few months ago that I’d be attending, I’m so glad I did. Like Camilla said, it’s about showing up. I found out that at least 7 women in our chapter alone (including yours truly) are currently working on writing books, and so I gathered them around to discuss creating our own chapter’s writer’s club. This will be our accountability group, pushing each other, with love, to keep our books on track and hopefully attend next year’s conference with our completed books in hand and for sale.
I also met some of the most amazing women both at the conference and in Dallas in general that have spoken of future exciting collaborations together. I love attending this conference and would encourage anyone looking to find out about the power of collaborating with other amazing women to do so as well. Hope to see you in 2011!

  2. I have to agree with Camilla! When you show up you have the opportunity to make connections. When you show up with positive intentions you have the opportunity to allow the universe to help you connect with your desires and make your dreams come true!

The best part of going to the Dallas conference for me was having the opportunity to have time to be able to get to know the FABULOUS gals from our own chapter in Reno. So many times we are looking for experts outside because we know that experts carry a briefcase and live at least 50 miles away…LOL…when in reality… we have acres of diamonds of experts right here in our own backyard!

My intention is to help showcase the dynamic group of women we have right here in Reno! May we all show up and sparkle and shine, shine, shine!!!!

  3. Well, even though I had to keep my dirty, little secret about my surprise performance on Saturday morning, I loved every moment of it. This year, I told myself that I would take more time out to process and think. Well, that did not happen. That would be like taking your kids to Disneyland and telling them they had to sit in the car for a few hours to digest all that they had seen. The conference has an energy off of its own, stemming from the sum total of all the amazing people and energy that collect there. It is like when you were a kid and got picked for a team, but this time everyone gets picked. There is a solidarity that is evident, and the “service first” attitude is obvious. The conference and the women who I have met who genuinely believe and care about me, are the very reason that I love what I do, and I will be there again next year, either on stage making you laugh or in a seat, but I will be there. Camilla will you take me shopping again at Nordstroms?

  4. I loved sharing a room with you! You are an amazing woman Kimberly! Yes, it’s our goal to have our books in hand when we go back next year! YeeeHaawww!!

  5. I love the “acres of diamonds” reference Clare! That is so darn fitting. Earl Nightingale would so agree!! I’m ready to sparkle and shine baby!

  6. Hey Kat! Your descriptions are so right on! Love the Disneyland analogy! Well, I don’t know about shopping again, since our Reno wind blew your Hanky Panky’s away! But, absolutely you are on for some dancin!!!!

  7. Thank you Camilla, for your beautiful article. It is truly inspiring! I couldn’t be happier for you and the women whose lives you touched at the conference. How lucky we all are. The conference was an amazing experience and I am so glad that I showed up too!

  8. Camilla,
You are an amazing woman. You came to ewomen with a dream. You had an open heart and you have done it! I am proud of you and you have inspired me. I am so happy to know you!

  9. Thank you so much DeDe! Meeting you on the last day of the conference solidified my dream and helped me to open my heart to it’s fullest! I have done this with the support and encouragement of some pretty darn amazing women, you included. Although our encounter was brief, it strongly moved me. It’s quite strange. Achieving one’s dreams is so easy; yet so hard! For me, discovering what my dream and true purpose are seemed to be the hardest part of this journey. I now realize it was the journey itself I was meant to travel so that I could discover my dream and purpose. Add a ton of tenacity, faith and good, true, authentic friends and you get one heck of a journey. I have traveled my share of valleys (and still do); but I have learned to enjoy those valleys as they are absolutely part of my journey! Right back atcha DeDe. I am full of gratitude for our brief encounter in Dallas and proud and happy to know you as well!
