Allowing the Gift of a Situation

“If you realize that all things change, there is nothing you will try to hold on to.” -Lao Tzu

Team TLC stands at the helm of a new adventure. Change is upon us. Anyone who has read my book, “D iz for Different”, knows that the home in which we currently live and that we’ve been in since 2008 was temporary. It ended up being a longer temporary than imagined! Our time in this house is coming to a close. By November 2013 we will call a different place our house. I do not know where this different place will be, what it will be or how it will look …

This change will NOT take us out of the area. We will stay in the Reno area as I’m in the beginning stages of launching my Coaching and Reiki business AND I am in love with the Montessori school that Thomas and Lillian attend.

Even though it may not seem so on the surface, I believe this is in answer to my prayers and desires. There is a gift here that will soon be revealed. My point of view is that we do not live in our home, our home lives within us …. It does not matter what building we place the label of “home” on. It’s what is in our heart and soul that creates a home. I feel, no, I KNOW we are at the beginning of something beautiful, magical and amazing coming into our lives!

I choose to present this to myself and my kids as an opportunity for adventure. I shared the exciting news with Thomas and Lillian this past Sunday night … carefully worded and presented as a shiny new gift on a silver platter just waiting to be opened.

At times over the next two months we will all three experience worry, melancholy, fear and some anxiety over this and I will encourage myself and my kids to let each other experience these emotions. And at the same time to bring in the emotions of excitement and curiousity about a new and unfolding adventure. We get the opportunity to experience the pure bliss and freedom of having an as yet molded lump of clay in our hands …. and WE GET to shape it into our hearts desire.

I, for one, am already in love with the next place we will call The Team TLC Casa …. and I have a strong feeling Thomas and Lillian already love it too …

Honestly, when I first received the news on August 30 2013, I felt anything but love. I was completely numb for the entire weekend! I reached out to a very special and dear friend for comfort and to share my feelings. It’s amazing how just the simple act of sharing our feelings helps us to be with the feelings and process them. With my sweet friends help I was able to stop bashing myself. Who is this person who can be so unkind with her judgments of me? Hahaha!

Thomas and Lillian have many questions and I don’t have an answer for some of them. I am patiently and with compassion letting them experience the emotions that arise. “Will we take my bed, our chairs, our table? Will we still have dinner with The Romano Duo on Friday and Saturday night? What will our new place look like? Will we still have movie night? All very good questions and concerns. I am blessed to be experiencing these times with these two very amazing souls.

Anyone in the Reno/Sparks area going on an extended vacation of a month or longer? Team TLC will come take Tender Loving Care of your house while you are gone! 😉 Or, who has a place in the Reno/Sparks area for rent for $300 a month? HA!! Or … Who would like to adopt a family? 😉

I have moved to and am still sailing my way to embracing this change with complete and utter LOVE …. I will continue to wake up every morning grateful to be here and grateful for the abundance that surrounds me every single day …. and …. I’ll continue to merrily row my boat gently down the stream …. !

“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.” -Lao Tzu

“Out beyond ideas of right-doing and wrong-doing there is a field. I’ll meet you there.” -Rumi

… And I leave you with this … a song with a powerful message that soothes my soul … and tight neck muscles!! Hahahaha!
